This one must have been incredibly hard to make. It was also one of the hardest projects I have had to photograph, but I got the 'look' I hoped for.

I am but a messenger. Bailey will fill in some details when he can. The owner is a respected member of this forum.

  • Blade material: W-1
  • Bolster/guard material: Mild steel tsuba and fuchi
  • Scale handle material: wood with same and silk wrap
  • Engraver scrimshander: Bailey Bradshaw
  • Other comments: Fisherman-theme Katana with antique menuki.

The scabbard is a deep blue color, and there is a fine-line carving of waves in the 'water' on the lower half of the tsuba and on the throat of the sheath. I found it captivating.

There is a prounounced hamon, but I was only able to capture sections of it. Believe it, it's loud and clear.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice work by everyone involved. Meaning bladesmith and photographer. Would like to know length of tsuka and blade. Congrats to new owner great theme

That "wave" carving is my favorite part. Is it made out of bronze? That must have taken a while to shoot. Nice job to all and congratulations.

If we give you the second degree, will you reveal the owner of this exquisite specimen?

Ha-HA!:D

It isn't me, but if it was, I wouldn't be blue with sadness.

Bailey has a blade for me at Blade, but not this one.

Best Regards,

Bailey's katanas are one of the finest...i can honestly say that because i've owned four of them at one point in my sword collecting. :)
