Here is a very sweet, and very large bowie from top Mastersmith, Bailey Bradshaw.
It is mint, and the workmanship absolutely flawless. One of the things I look for and one of my peeves, is the fit of the blade to the guard, on this bowie, it is seamless, and perfectly fit on all 4 sides.
Very large bowie, with an 11", hand satin finished blade of forged W2, the contoured handle is premium Amboynia Burl with extremely fine color and figure. The ferrule and "S" guard are forged, random pattern damascus, the buttcap is a very cool explosion pattern damascus, with a heat colored finial screw. This bowie is of takedown construction, and the finial can be removed (unscrewed), allowing the buttcap and handle to be removed for cleaning/maintenance.
The satin blade has a very nice, frosty white Hamon, with a gorgeous "pullback". The Hamon didn't come out so well in the picture, where it just looks like a dark, faint line. In many pictures of knives with hamons, the line isn't visible at all, or barely so, it's very hard to capture them on a large knife like this, you'll just have to picture that in person, when the light hits the blade, the frostly white Hamon really jumps out at you and is beautifully done. Bailey is a very accomplished martial artist and he makes some very fine traditional Japanese swords, so his expertise and understanding of Hamons/temper lines is world-class, and thus his Hamons are always extremely well done, as is his heat treat which brings them out. His knives are beautiful for sure, but above all else, they are always functional, and built to be used.
This knife cost me $1650 about 1.5 years ago, I'm not all that anxious to see it go, but I could use the cash, so, until I regain my senses (or find the money elsewhere), I'll offer this very special bowie for $1495 including fully insured, Priority shipping.
I can take PayPal, but I ask that we split the 3% fees.
First to email me and say they'll take it, gets it.
