Despite my best efforts not to end up in a position where I have to sell things out of necessity, here I am. Due to a car accident this weekend, I'll be buying my girlfriend a new car - and so, some things will need to go.

Up for sale here is a brand new Bailey Bradshaw katana. This sword has just been completed and I haven't even taken posession of it - it's still at Bailey's place.

The sword measures 28 1/2" blade length, 1 1/4" wide at the habaki. The tsuka is 10 1/2" long. Blade is forged from 1" W-1 round bar.

When this piece was ordered I requested that he put the blade quality on par with the 'Hayabusa' tachi he made for me previously, but with a simpler set of fittings.

Bailey did all the work on this piece, with the exception of the fuchi & kashira - which are antique pieces that I purchased from David Goldberg a couple of years ago. The fuchi/kashira set is really nice carved set out of kashira features 3 wisemen and the fuchi has a horse carving on it.

David's description at the time I bought them - "Magnificent + signed, Mint condition Fuchi Kashira. Silver, gold ,shakudo and copper! This set has it all! Excelent Patina! These are originals. Measurments: Fuchi-38mm long x 22mm wide x 13mm high Ana-28.5mm long x 10mm wide. Kashira- 34mm long x 19mm wide x 9 high. Ito ana 12.5mm x 4mm Don't miss out ! Sets of this quality are few and far between"

This sword is NO LONGER AVAILABLE

This represents my cost, minus the fuchi/kashira set - which is a significant discount. FWIW - the wait on this piece was approx 18 months - not sure of Bailey's current wait time.

Please email me PM or email me with any questions.

In addition, Bailey has a matching wakizashi that is available to buyer if they are interested.

The waki measures 19" long and forged from W-1 as well. There is a little flaw in the kissaki close to the spine shwere the ridge initiates. It could have been a lap in the forging, a flaw in the billet or just a small crack from quenching.

It's available NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Thought I would chime in on this one.

The first thing I want to say about this katana is that it cuts like a laser. I made several cuts through 1" sapplings, then went to 2" and it just blew through them. It's a powerfull feeling blade but isn't heavy. It has a tip heavy balance, which it the way a nagimaki blade should feel. Plus it has an antique set of fuchi/kashira that is of very nice quality.

The tsube is by me, made of steel, pierced and rust blued.

I just finished this one up a couple of weeks ago.

The waki is a nice blade too. It will make a nice dai-sho set with the katana at a far lower price point you will find anywhere.
