This is my Wapiti design hunting knife. Its made from 1/8" O1 tool steel with the heat treat colors left on the flats. It has a 5" cutting edge with an overall length of just under 10". The balance is right at the front edge of the wood on the handle to reduce hand fatigue while working on large game. The blade has a nice long straight edge for making curls and power cuts. There is a big belly and a fine tip. This works well for more of a chefs grip while carving and skinning.
The contoured handle has a natural instinctive grip which helps when hands are cold and wet. There flat spots on the front of the handle that helps index the handle for detail work. The contours on the handle work in many different grips without hot spots. The handle is made from Olive wood. Nice blond, dense wood. It also has a thick ivory paper micarta liner and brass pins.
The hand made sheath is dyed medium brown and hand sewn. It is sealed with atom wax.
