I was wondering if you guys thought this would be a good belt grinder for knife-making. I don't do hollow grinding at all. I want something with lots of power and has variable speed. Belts I can probably order from klingspor different grits. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of suitable grinders available in Canada that I can find. Plus this looks like just such a nice sturdy machine.

You might also look at www.knifemaker.ca. He is a respected member on bladeforums.

He has 2x72" grinders, though I saw no variable speed models, as well as all the knifemaking materials you could want. He is also in AB, so maybe you could save on shipping. I know AB is a vast place, though.

I don't know if Rob allows local pickups or not but I'd guess Cremona is about an hour from Red Deer.

Thanks All

We do have the the Bee in 1HP and 2HP Variable. Thanks for pointing out the omission in the store. I'll fix it today. Call if you're interestedd. It will stand up to comparison with any grinder.

Rob!
