i have never handled a Balisong knife. is the blade held absolutely solid in the open position ? and, what is the trade-off in carrying a Bali vs. a folder or lockback of the same size ? roland

There are a lot of bali enthusiast's right here on this forum so check my answer with them... a bali when latched or held in the open position is nearly as strong as a fixed blade (as strong as the stop pins, liners and latch), there is zero blade play vertical or horizontal,This one uses bearings in the pivots so you don't get the handles scratching the blade. Pro's/con's of carrying? balis are illegal to carry in many states but so are concealed folders of a certain size in some states, when you learn simple manipulations (latch drop, windmill, ect..) they open one handed and very fast. i hope that answers your questions, drop into the balisong forum here and ask them.

les, this thing is pimpin. I absolutely love the temper, gives it that samurai look. that's a deal for a custom bali. i'm sure this won't last long.

i'm relieved it's sold. i really wanted to get this knife, which would have been my first Bali, but i have already spent a mini-fortune on knives this year.
Les, i hope you make another with this blade shape, maybe in a couple of months. roland

Very nice, clean, and well proportioned, I've never made one, but when you mentioned the bearings in the pivots...now is that your trade secret? I would love to know how it's assembled, but wouldn't want to impose.
Bottom line, good work sir.
