Bali-flipper has flipped…bad news!

I had intended on just dropping this whole issue, but the more I learn about it the madder I get. :mad:

I had a BM 42C up on bladeauctions for a quick 3 day run last week…needed cash fast, and I knew I could get some with that knife.

This kid James bid on it, and so did a couple other respected forum members. The auction ended with James as the “winner” at a little less than I expected the knife to bring. Oh well, good for him I think.

We make contact, and I find he’s in Canada, but has alternate shipping in US…ok fine.
Next he wants to send me to the mall to buy him some other knife to include in the shipment…sounds weird so I ask his age…he says he is 16…(I’m guessing 14.) and he is using his mom's Amex.

When I inform him that I do not sell to minors, or people using someone else's credit card, he starts to pour on the guilt…”Please don't do this to me…I went through alot to win that auction (beggin the other bidders to back out…) and I didn't do it all for nothing. You can call my house…” blah, blah, blah…and he goes on with details of his home situation (way more than I needed to know)…then implies that I’m being unreasonable?!?

So, after talking with one of the ex-bidders, I find he got an even weirder email! I would have backed out too…no telling what this kid may do if he doesn’t get this knife…really sounds more like a 10 year old than 14.

Bottom line, the kid talked other bidders into dropping out of an auction so he can get the knife for less.
That cost me money, and it cost the auction money on their fees for a sale. No sale, no fees.
Then he questions me about not honoring my sale! :mad:

Do business with this kid at your own risk.

I had an underage kid bid on a knife I had for sale on Ebay awhile back. How I found out is I was waiting for payment and after 7 days I went to look up his MSN Profile, and there it was, He was 15, I e-mailed him and told him it was off. It's not worth the extra hassle and possible legal issues to even deal with him. The fact that he e-mailed other bidders to make the price lower for him would really piss me off. :mad:

Collusion between bidders to hold the price down or fix the winner of an auction is illegal and it certainly invalidates the auction.
 
I did not tell the other bidders to back out to keep the price down so you wouldn't make money I did it because it didn't know what else to do and I wanted the 42c so badly because when It fisrt came out I tryed to get it asking 3 different places and they all said they sold out. Also you clearly don't know anything about me by saying "do business with this "kid" at your own risk" because I am not one that goes around with a fake credit card, I assure you that my mom gave me permission and she told me to tell you to call her so you could sell the knife to her, yet you just ignored that and started bashing me and im pretty sure that you didn't need to end your little email with "Merry F##king Christmas" because thats really harsh. Anyways I plan to get a new 42 before Christmas to make up for this gift.

And what kind of 10 year old owns a MT Tachyon, BM31s, and BM43. You tell me? And I'm not 14, I'm 16 for your information clearly you don't have any stright facts so why do you bother posting here.
 
As a loyal friend (and customer) of Duane's. Dude come on! i can appreciate your effort to getting the bali. But wrong way! I bet if the other bidders knew your age they would of had other things to say than "sure". You are underage! Now please dont take this as an entire insult but what mother lets her child get these, I was allowed a fricking swiss army knife and a gerber tool. Then i got a small fixed blade for scouts. No child of mine will ever be alowed to have a bali until they are legal. Cuz its the law! Bali-flipper, if you are 16(and i assume so, the attitude shows), just wait another yr and a bit and you can get a real paying job and buy your own- LEGALY.

So stick with what you got and stay out of trouble, you dont want to loose all your toys.

Also im not just some teenage punk who gets these knives to be stupid with them, I am a very serious balisong collector and balisong is the biggest part of my life. I just spent 6 hours of my night learning how to mirror polish and I have managed to mirror the single side of each of 4 different knives including the handle on my Halo 3 replica, would some stupid teenage punk do that, I think not.

I have had knives, and flipped a few, since before you were an itch in your dads pants. :p

I am happy you get a good enough allowance to buy quality, but its illegal for you to have them, case closed.

As i said i appreciate your love of the blades, just do it responsably, that means legally. (gee, i bet you didnt tell mom it was illegal)

And really what kind of collection doesent even have a 49-0x, or 31-0x :D

The 42 spring latch is great, I fully recomend it for an 18th b-day gift.

My take on it is you should be more up front before you go on bidding on an auction.
You being 16 years old is a big issue. Get your mom to buy it for you.End of problem.
Come to a B.A.K.C.A meeting sometime and bring your Bali collection.
BTW, I collect autos which are illegal in the state in which I reside and my daughter(7 years old) and grand kids(8 and 6) have pretty good auto collections.

Actually my mom is fully in tune with everything surrounding my hobby including the legitimacy of it and the possession, I have my knives displayed on my desk and she has absolutly no problem with any aspect of my knives because I am entirely responsible about them in every which way.

Also I am starting to see that this is just becomeing a "bash james fest" and I don't think that's fair at all and this was what started that whole trolling crap long ago.

So what, now you are threatening that you are going to start trolling again if people don't stop picking on you? And you say you are responsible? I remember you as th3sp3i4lis7 with that BS gay porn link you had for a web site. I clicked on that with my 10 year old son standing right beside me and as far as I am concerned anyone that would do that is an immature little prick who needs a good spanking. You have become a respected member of the balisong community on this forum and good for you, but threatening more trolling will not keep you respected for very long.

By the way, to those that say James should wait until he is 18 to buy a balisong, in Canada balisongs are illegal no matter how old you are. It is a law that I disagree with just as much as I do one that makes autos illegal anywhere, but it is the law nonetheless.

James, you had no business emailing anyone else and trying to get them to back out of the bidding, no matter how much you wanted that BM42. You say that it wasn't so that you could get a better price, but that is obvously exactly why you did do it. If not you would have just bid on it until you won the auction, but that would have meant a higher price. You sent those emails hoping that others would back out of the bidding and you could get the knife for a lower price. Please don't think that we are so stupid as to believe that there is any other reason for doing what you did.

What you did deserves a good bashing and if you can't take your lumps like a man, go away until you can, and don't make veiled threats about trolling if people keep picking on you. That shows a distinct lack of maturity.
 
I am certainly not ever going to troll agian, which I stated in a previous post.

Anyways, you win some you lose some, I hope Braundc enjoys the 42c as much as I would have :D Lets leave it at that.

I have to say there is definately a big difference between the most expensive balisong and the most valuable balisong. Bali-flipper? I would have to say your most vauable balisong is probably your Tachyon at around $150.00 to $200.00 (what # is that one anyway?). BUT... the most expensive balisong for you has recently become the BM42c, at the cost of your forum reputation. You have been warned, then banned by our balisong forum moderator. Then you come back with another screen name, start your crap again, get banned again. Then you have the balls to come back a third time, keep your nose clean for a few months, and start the kiddy crap all over again. All with a basic membership. What gives??? (BF's fatal flaw.) Allowing this kind of kiddy crap to fester around us is stinking up the forum and wasting alot of peoples time. I would say ban him again but at least we know who and where you are by letting you stay. If we ban you, I would bet my two BM42c's you would be right back with another screen name in no time. Live and learn... :rolleyes:

I think it is the Canadian Government telling you what you can and can't have, not us bali-flipper. I wouldnt be bragging too loud here. You are aware you could lose all those knives and be charged for owning them if they found out right? Does your mom know this? Does your Mom also know that when the proper authorities read this, and visit your webpage, After they confiscate all your bali's, they will punish her for the crimes since you are a minor? Think about what I just said James.
 
James... I got nothing against your wanting to collect balis in a responsible manner. Saving up your money is something I respect. All us Bali enthusiasts were once minours in prolly a place where Balis are illegal in some shape or form.

I don't think that is Duane's point here. As I see it the ends justify the means you might not have MEANT any harm to Duane but he was in a money pinch at that time and in your SELFISH and DECEPTIVE acts you prevented an auction to partake it's intendeed course.

You ruined a business deal, no matter what your intent was. You might want to risk your neck to break the law but you cant FORCE DUANE TO BREAK THE LAW, especially after what you did to his business deal.

I think that is where it ends. Please think about it James.

Duane is not the one wasting other people's time here. James is the one doing so. I realize at 16 you probably think things should go your way all the time but they don't. For some people this is a hobby and for others it is a business. You don't auction something off on a regular auction to see how cheap you can get rid of it, that is what reverse auctions are for, you auction it off in the hopes that 2 or more people will get stuck on having the item and keep bidding each other up.

The man is trying to give you some very sound advice which you definitely should consider fully.

What rule have I broken In these forums. I broke a rule outside of the forums so why would that tranfer over to here where I am a good contributer.

Anyways please stop this thread it's going no where I get your messages but balisong is so importnat in my life at this point that I couln't live without it, hence my slogans.
 
Nobody is “bashing” you…we’re calling you out because you are wrong, and making you face up to it. That’s what happens if you want to play with the big boys (you know, the ones that shave.) Unfortunately, all we can do is call you on it, and warn the regular people who use this site and do business here to avoid you…we can’t grab you and kick the $hit out of you like you really need. :mad:

It’s all about facing up to your mistakes James. One day you’ll understand that…maybe. I’m doing it now. It was my mistake to try to deal with you at all. No big deal. You wasted my time and cost me a sale. Could be worse…I could have sold my knife to a kid in Canada using his “mom’s” ccard, and later found out that the card was stolen and the charges get reversed…then get a call from some pissed off custom’s agent… “So, you sell illegal knives to children, eh?”

Obviously we’re wasting more of our time talking to you because you won’t consider that you could be at fault here. :rolleyes:

The part that is working is that everyone here can see how you operate and all but your like minded friends (Kiem?) will avoid you all together...which was my intention when I started this thread. :D
