I was at the NKCA show today and picked up a Benchmade 239 ZAMAK model.

Question is, What is Zamak? Im sure its the handle right?...Whats it made of?

The knife is NIB, what price range do these sell for? I took it on a trade for a knife I was never going to use anyway. Now I have a knife I can have some fun with anyway.

Thanks!

Zamak is a zinc based metal, so its not the strongest of steels. I believe the composition was asked before, so just search Zamak. As for the price, it goes from about $100-$150.

You should just flip it IMO.

Hey Kdarmy,

I believe that's:

And Red Green comes on in just a few minutes in my corner of Virginia so I'm gonna go watch it.

I also have a question. What is a decent price for a used BM Bali? I am going to a gun/knife show that we have here every couple months, and I was thinking I'd try to pick up any strays that I saw there. Is there any kind of guideline as to the point where it is beyond any kind of condition that you would want or are they all worth giving a good home? I deal mostly with tac. folders, and so I know quite a bit about conditions and stuff, but I'm relatively new with bali's for a variety of reasons and don't know exactly what I'm looking for yet, but I absolutely love the knives.

You can see a history of previous sales of many balisongs on my website. The very reason I publish this list is so that people can get some idea of values.

I had a 239 once before, paid $34 for it and wouldn't even pay a cent more for it now. The lock up went after a couple of weeks. The blade was nice, the handles weren't.
