"Bali" Ring ??

The other thing you can do with a ring is use it to draw a knife by the clip out of your pocket and keep it completely concealed by your hand. Allthough it would scratch the ring a bit, pull upward along your pant leg and wedge the ring up under the clip and pull the knife out. you can keep all your fingers together and completely extended and therefor keep the knife completely concealed in the palm of your hand. Some clips are easier to do it with than other; i used to carry a spyderco police model which is a fairly big knife and it worked perfecly. You can simply reach down and "rub" your pant leg, drawing the knife silently, stealthly and completely hidden untill your hand is where you want it to be. then simply bend the finger the ring is on and the clip will pop off it leaving the knife in hand.

What finger is your ring on Masse, That doesn't seem to work to well with my tip down folder and my thumb ring.

Balilover, it deffinately wouldnt work with a thumb ring, you'd have to have it on your middle/ring finger. It's not really the most practical way to plan on drawing a knife, but if you have a ring in the right place and a clip that accomodates it, it can be very, very effective.

Yes, but the only problem is they don't make the bali ring
what? who? titanium era or those others?
i also noticed... if you look close enuff at the ti era ring, it doesn't look at nice as that other one, because the holes in it isn't symetric. just look at it. suddenly there's some smaller holes and stuff, making it look a bit goofy, i think.. :(

balilover: how wide is your bali ring? i think i'd like one for the ring finger or something, but 10mm is a bit wide... so how narrow can it really be, before it doesn't look sweet anymore? 7-8mm, perhaps?

and what kind of finish would you recommend? i must say, i like the polished finish the best personally. it looks more shiny. :D

Well, the Titanium Era ring is NOT the same as the Bali ring. It's holes are in a random pattern, like the stars, which is why the name Luna.

My band is 10mm wide in a size 12. I almost wish I had gone with a 12mm wide band to fill more of the space between my knuckles but the 10mm fits well. Personally, I think a 10mm band would fit on my a ring finger very will since the skin doesn't bunch up as much when you bend your finger, and the distance beteen knuckle joints is further.

As for the finish, Polished does look great, and if you don't plan to do manual labor while wearing it, thats what I would recommend. A brushed finish might do a better job of hiding any scratches you get on it but I'm not sure. Mine is Polished but throught the abuse it has taken I know have a scratched up polish finish, but its still less scrathed up than my gold rings.

Boone has a FAST turn around time. From the time he started on my ring to the time it reached my doorstep was only 4 days. It arrived in a nice little ring box and almost blinded me with it's glare when I opened the lid. If you do business with him, I'm sure you won't regret it.

hmm... that sounds very good. too good to be true, almost. ;)
but i cannot see anywhere to order a ring... where do i do that?

You shoot the man an e-mail and let him know what you want in what size, finish, etc. As I recall, he accepts payment via paypal too if that makes things easier.

sorry, didn't see that his email was earlier in this forum. sorry, sorry.
thanks.

. . just wanted to add that this ring is sweet!! ( I got the
brushed finish 11.5 size).

As far as scratches, I haven't had many but a Miracle Cloth polish
brings it back to looking just like new!

BaliLover: as I said before KUDOS! excellent design and thank you
Bruce for bringing it to life!

I have been alternating it from thumb to index finger on both hands. It fits really nice, very light, very comfortable. It is correct that you barely know it is there. Did you get yours yet?

nope, haven't even ordrered it yet. think i'll wait till after christmas - to see how much money i have left. ;)

you have _one_ ring that fits on both thumb and index finger? how's that possible? isn't the thumb a bit thicker than the index finger? or do you have 2 rings?

I'm not sure, but it fits them both, maybe a little more snug
on the index finger. I like to wear it on the index finger
when I am working with oil or water where it might slip off
my thumb.

huh??
if you are like me, and have thicker thumbs than index fingers, then if it would slip easilly of your thumb, whouldn't it slip even more easilly of your index finger?

or perhaps it's just that you're grabbing more with your thumb than your i.f. when you're working with oil and water... :p
sorry, i'm a big goof!

Well, I guess it just seems like it would slip off the thumb easier.
My thumb has a bigger knuckle and it slips over the knuckle fairly
tight but then it fits perfect. It fits good on the index finger as well.

Now that I tested it it also fits perfect on the middle finger.

But whatever.
Anyways, enough about my strange fingers,it is an awesome ring.

hehe, that's what i wanted to hear. guess i have to order one sooner or later... :)

Well hate to bring back dead posts (not really) but I was bored so I was reading through old posts and found this one.

My thumb is actually thinner than my index finger as well (not the nuckle though.) Interesting ringmight look at getting one a BIT later...wonder if he can do an anodized finish?
