I just mailed my BM 42 to Benchmade for a tang replacement today. Hope it doesnt get confiscated.

I posted earlier about not wanting to mail my knife away and I was basically met with responses that said I was being foolish. If my knife gets swiped I'm gonna be kinda mad at you guys, and may have to resort to swift beatings of selected forumites (just kidding).

No one else with me had knives in their bags. If you did get searched (the searches are random) they would most likely take it.

I travel alot. When the attack occured I was in Lima, Peru. After an extended stay dur tot he airlines being backed up I flew from Lima to Miami to San Juan to Barbados. I had 2 BM folders, a leatherman, a Cold Steel Peace Maker (the big one), an ASP and hand cuffs in my checked bag that was ex-rayed no less than 3 times, including once in Miami. No one ever said a word about any of it. Granted I didnt even have a shaver in my carry on. I think that they are not to worried about what knives you have in your bags as long as they dont actualy see them and you check them. That has jus been my experance though...
