balisong building help needed

And there's the problem of a latch. I chose to avoid this problem and use a sheath instead :D But if you are going to make a latch, it's a good idea to make sure it can't swing into the path of the blade.

Yup minibear I agree with you on the latch. I am looking to use some rare earth magnets instead of the swing lock. I will would like to add a pocket clip to it or make a kydex sheath if no clip for carrying.

Just finished talking to a durakote Rep and think I will give it a try for the finish.

I have cutting torches and such so if I were to heat .150 ti up pretty good will it bend very easliy? If it does will I be able to drill it or will it need to be annealed? I don't want to bend it in a radical shape but just a nice curve to the handles.

Update, I believe I have everything figured out now. I went ahead and purchased a metal bandsaw for processing the ti, and have a piece coming. Mr Guinn was nice enough to pass along some advice on how to build the latchless design with rare earth magnets and got me setup with some other tools that will come in handy. The design is worked out and ready to go so all that is left is to find some time to begin once its all here.
