sniperboy: when you said that the only other place you had seen the tang stamp "switch" was on spearpoints, wouldn't they just be batangas or manila style latches, since they are custom balisongs anyway?? Just a thought.

Has anyone ever seen a Benchmade, Pacific Cultery, or Bali-Song Cutlery piece with a Manila latch? I have not. Latchless? Yes. Double-edged blades don't count, obviously. But a true Manila latch? I have not seen one.

I remember the balisong on the cover of "The Balisong Manual" has the manila style latch. I'll check again when I get a chance.
