Does anyone know what the law in Indiana and Kentucky is regarding butterfly knives? If they are legal, what about blade length issues? Thanks.

Kentucky laws pertaining to knives...good and ambiguous...

----------------------------------
527.020 Carrying concealed deadly weapon.
(1) A person is guilty of carrying a concealed weapon when he carries concealed a
firearm or other deadly weapon on or about his person.

500.080 Definitions for Kentucky Penal Code.
As used in the Kentucky Penal Code, unless the context otherwise requires:

(4) "Deadly weapon" means any of the following:
(c) Any knife other than an ordinary pocket knife or hunting knife ;

527.020 Carrying concealed deadly weapon.
(4) Persons licensed to carry a concealed deadly weapon pursuant to KRS 237.110 may
carry a firearm or other concealed deadly weapon on or about their persons at all
times within the Commonwealth of Kentucky, if the firearm or concealed deadly weapon is
carried in conformity with the requirements of that section.
----------------------------------

someone PLEASE define "an ordinary pocket knife".

If one has a "Concealed Weapons License" from any state, then in KY you are covered for any knife you would like to carry. The KY licenses are for "Concealed Deadly Weapons," which covers knives, brass knuckles, firearms, black jacks, etc.

If you don't have a CCWL than I would reccomend a folding knife no larger than 4 inches in blade length. I never had any issues regarding carrying a knife in KY.
