BaliYo's available Aug 7

Considering the MSRP was originally about twice what is is selling for now, I have to wonder if these are going to be offered through the knife dealers, or if they are going to be direct only.
maybe Eric, Sal or another member of the team could tell us, but after all, like Jay said, there's still eBay for the foreigners looking for decent shipping, and normal shipping fees.

They'll probably be well below MSRP at that point too. Shipping First Class Mail to Hong Kong wouldn't cost more than $4-5 for one of these. In the meantime, I'll keep myself entertained with my live blades. :)

I hope you're right!
I remember reading several times that Spyderco was too small of a company to handle sales as heavily as a full-time seller, and preferred to concentrate on making. I hope the MSRP reduction induces a street price reduction too, but I'll be fine with paying MSRP on eBay for serious shipping.

Cool. Just placed an order for a pink/orange, which earlier (I swear!) was listed as being sold out!

I do have to comment that the ordering page was not secure. I'll have to monitor that credit card for a while...

nice, just ordered a couple...will have to see if visa calls about any suspicious transactions...they're pretty on top of that.

here's what a little research found:

"How much safety do you think the https protocol adds? That means nobody can sniff your info between your computer and the remote site. That's fine, but I'd bet 99.9999% of theft occurs on the server after your data is stored there. The encrypted session doesn't do you any good then.

Unless you're using public WiFi or you have a bored crook at your ISP reading your packets in hopes of getting credit card info, how your info reaches the site really isn't as important as what's done with it once it gets there."

Take from that what you will...

We should have more in a few days and then a pretty good supply in a few weeks.

We'll loook into the overseas shipping costs.

Thanx much for the interest and support.

Man, every time I think I have a good pen (all complimentary pens; I don't think I've ever paid money for an actual pen), it starts to skip on me. My "good" pen just started skipping on me today.

Maybe it's time for a new pen

Shoot, maybe I should have waited for a grey one...

Nah. :D I can't wait for my RWB one!

I saw that too, so I decided to hold off until they have a secure payment page or it comes in at a dealer I frequent. As mentioned above, there are other risks to one's information besides the security of a given webpage but why risk it if you don't have to?

We'll look into the overseas shipping costs.
Thanks a lot for that, it is much appreciated! I think there are more people who will be interested for another option than UPS for worldwide shipping

I just found this out and they're all out of stock lol, do you ship to Australia? and how much would it cost for shipping?

I think the $50 tag was there to discourage export sales for the first run. They require special handling and we weren't set up yet to handle it.

We'd like to get dealers in each country, that would be best.

Current pricing does not favor distributors so dealers might be slow in coming. We have a few that have already connected with us, but just in the US.

We have an interested rep for the UK, so we can probably get something going there more quickly and I'm sure Jur will be a big help in locating European dealers. He's a great assett to Spyderco.

It's really not a knife item and many knife dealers aren't interested.

We do have plans for a lower cost import, but it's still a ways away. Then more of the distributors will carry them.

Don't know if you can say, but is there anyone from Australia who's interested? I may know a couple who may be interested.
