How do you put ball bearings in a folder for the pivet and how much side clearence? Thanks in advance. JRH

Machine a race into each liner ~ .050 deep x ~ .065 w., around your pivot pin. Use .0625 diameter 440C, ceramic, (whatever your preference), bearing balls around your pivot pin ala IKBS ;)

IMHO, this is far and away the best method out there right now.

You'll need to be licensed to use the system, and for some reason, I can't seem to find a link to point you towards :o

Yes, thats it. Thank you Brad :)

When I got licensed to use IKBS, Duane Weikum was the U.S. Rep.
I had to build a fully functional folder ( I made a Bali ) using the IKBS then send it off to Duane for inspection.

If you're serious about using a bearing system in your folders (or Bali's) I would encourage you to check out IKBS. It's really an awesome, rock solid, smooth as silk set-up

Thanks David and all who answered. I have thought bearings would make a smooth and sweet pocket or flipper knife.
