This tomahawk is forged from an old vintage ball peen hammer the old fashion way with just arm power. I heat treated the the hawk by selective heating the cutting end to a non-magnetic and quenching in oil and checking with a file which skated off without biting in. The tip of the spike was also treated in the same manner. Afterwords the entire bit was tempered at 500 degrees for 1 hour. The handle is stained hickory and head is set wedges.
SPECS:
Steel: Vintage ball peen hammer.
Overall length: 13 inches long
Bit length for tip of spike to cutting edge 7 inches
Cutting edge 2.5 inches
Brown leather protective edge sheath
PRICE: $125 plus $12 shipping
