I've not actually used it, but it's supposed to be good for all kinds of stuff, including knives, leather, guns, and treatment of minor wounds. . . Kinda like a miracle cure all tonic, but it really works.
it works well for guns!
It's like CLP but non-toxic. The smell isn't bad either. sort of like stinky socks at first, then it dissipates to an anise smell.
I've just recently started using Ballistol. I just used some to rejuvenate some G-10 polymer knife handles on a couple of old Spyderco folders I carry occasionally. It did a splendid job. It made the G-10 handles look like new.
I also used some to clean up a couple of older knives. It seemed like it did well in the area of partially removing corrosion and it penetrated well into the moviing parts as well.
I am sure that there are a myriad of uses for Ballistol and I look forward to learning more. It seems like it is ideal for cleaning many types of knife handles.
