So I had my yard fences replaced last week, and in order to put the new fences in, they needed to cut back the bamboo quite substantially. Shown in the photo are a few pieces that I cut with my CAS Hanwei Preying Mantis, used a bolt in a section of redwood to keep them upright, other than that, no support....very good sword, no damage on blown cuts, sailed through 3 of 5 attempts.

I have about 8 lengths 4'+ and a few 3'+....as before, they can be cut down or left as is.

Anyone who wants, just like before, send your address if I don't already have it, or if I do, just say how much you want.....when it is gone, it is gone...will try to package and ship tomorrow.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Hi STeven, I'm not a cutter, or even know much about it, but it intrigues me. May I have a piece, just to put in my shop so people can look at it? One too small for others to use would be fine, maybe one of your nice cuts on an impressive piece.

Let me know how I can pay you for shipping.
Thanks Mark

It's generous of you STeven to offer your bamboo and your time, but reading about your cutting practice has me curious about the swords.
You have probably handled and cut with as many of the production and custom swords as anybody. I would like your opinion on them. If you have the time and are willing, perhaps a bit of a review on the ones that you have used? For example Hanwei vs Cold Steel, or production vs custom. Knives are my life, but I admit that I know almost nothing about Japanese swords.

Thanks

Adam-

Thanks for the kind words, Adam.

I did a writeup per Joe Paranee's request some time ago in the Swords Subforum.

Here is a link, read it over, and if you have any specific questions, be happy to answer(It took about 5 hours to write up, so I hope you can understand why I don't start fresh)

really enjoyed your sword article Steven.

Steven,

Haven't forgotten that Korean Deba. Some complications, but I'll get it to you before this is all over.

Best,

John
