Band saw vs: Plasma cutter

Do you guys recommend a certain model of plasma cutter?

Just like welding equipment, a helpful servicing dealer can make or break ones view of a particular brand.
I have Hypertherm 25-ish years now. I like it, never let me down. Virtually any welding supplier in town carries it and its consumables.
My buddy bought a Cebora about 20 years ago, it was a fair bit cheaper, seems to work fine. I dunno about his experience of support parts.

^^^ I have a Chicago Electric 40A myself, because I was given it new... but if I had to buy one, it would be a Hypertherm or Esab. Hyper though is what i've used a lot of, and they are a well made and effective unit. JT got one as I recall and likes it...

Yep JT has a 30XP. I've got a 30. The XPs have a little more snot for the size. Golfer, specifically I recommend a 30XP. It will do anything a knifemaker could reasonably want, on 115 or 220 and it's light and easy to store. Very portable.

You need to make sure you have a compressor capable of feeding it.
