Band Saw wood to metal conversion

I'm just afraid to ruin another $30 blade, the first 2 because I was running 300 SFPM on a 14-18 tooth.

Cut really good then I must have hit a hard spot on some 1084. Anyway just a little gun shy.

I have a couple of Roll-In saws that need new tires, that I just bought, one is 3 phase so might hook it to my vari-spd. controller, but then again I think they will go to 50SFPM haven"t run them yet.. Maybe use the 3 phase motor for a disk grinder?

A very long time ago - 15 years - I took a 10" and converted it to cut metal BUT at a very high speed of about 5000 fpm. It does a beautiful job on titanium and HARDENED metals as well. It wants to cut straight lines only. Since I only make liner locking folders it's the real cat's wiskers ! As well,it does a great job of sawing large pieces of ivory. Frank
