Well after a few years my Ryobi Home depot special is starting to act up. I wanted to replace it with a better saw that doesn't wander so much. I know you have to tune them and it has a lot to do with the bearing setup and such but basically wanted to stay in the 4-500$ max if possible. Any suggestions I should check into? I have 220v if need.

Well In my opinion the best 14" bandsaw I have ever used is Powermatic 143. It is a Wood/metal with a two speed gear box. They are tuff to find around here but they are around from time to time. If you are lookinf for Just wood I would get its brother the 141.

Yeah. I have a metal one already just want a quality lasting one for wood and handle materials.

For wood the Grizzly 14" bandsaw is great. With a good slicing blade I've cut some nice veneer. Very pleased with it. Forgot the model # and I'm not home.
