Bandana

I have a big ole head I need one of the big one's! I remember in scouts we always had a few around for different things.
 
Just google "uses for bandannas". Probably the cheapest multi-tool in existence. The cotton ones are good for summer, the polyester ones are good for every season, but they are more expensive.
 
When I was a bike messenger I used it to keep the sweat of yhe parcels and to keep my head warm in the winter and cool in the summer. I have one that I can also use as ha hat and a scarf

The smaller ones, around 21" square may be a bit small to use as a head cover.
Not impossible, but not as convenient and the knots tend to come out a little messy. They fit a bit better into a pocket for EDC though.

Next to a knife a bit of cloth is the most versatile thing ever. And if you carry one you don't have to use your tshirt. :p

Big K so right Brother, I use mine one time to stain water for my canteen,also to Wipe off My Rc-4 when it's Dirty!! LOL
 
They work well to keep moisture on your head. Keeps you cool and slows down dehydration. I use one in Arizona alot.
 
One more thing unmentioned: gear/small item/food "hammock." Tie it on a branch to keep away the ants, dirt and whatnot (did this a lot when I was a kid picking fruits and berries).
 
do you think a bandana would also compliment a keffiyeh aka shemagh.
Like wrap the shemagh to protect from sun and ust or whatever else, then have the bandana, maybe water soaked underneath around you forehead to keep you cool?

Since we have now established the need and relevance...

Wouldn't a RAT Bandana be nice?
Maybe an oversized one, say 30x30?

I would love a RAT bandanna.

I already have orange bandannas for summer, an orange beanie for winter. Don't know if I'd wear a pink bandanna, but it would be great for signaling and doing just about anything else that can be done with a bandanna.

Oversized, slightly larger then a normal one. :cool:

I also want a zippo and dog tag though, but im not cool enough. :(
 
bandanas can be used for just about anything, a must have when hiking. last time i went on a backpacking trip it was extremely handy when my water filter broke and i had to boil water. i used it to filter the sediment out of the lake i was one. it was also used to scrub dishes, myself, and just a normal headband, i did have a few of them so they werent too gross. however the possibilities are endless, water filtration, headcovering, bandage, washcloth, tying things etc.
