The logo was not put on the back b/c the hood would have covered it. It also would have increased cost. Something I tried to keep in mind when I was doing them.

As far as the logo not being prominent enough I don't know what to tell you. If it were too big someone would have bitched that they wanted it subdued. If it's too small you bitch it's not logo gear. I'm sorry that I'm the one putting in the effort, time and money to get these done. Perhaps one of you should do all the leg work and then get bitched at b/c people felt like they should have had input on your product design. Your "appreciation" for my time is noted. I'm sure you will see a drastic decrease in the time I put in to turning out the gear YOU ASK FOR.

I think the sweatshirts aren't selling because of the design. You can't take input from 200 people because no one will ever agree, but for a $45 sweatshirt, I think most would have liked to have some input perhaps, even if it was just what size logo and placement. A small logo on the left chest isn't that prominent for logo gear and the websites on the butt is probably a turn off for some.

There aren't 175 backouts for no reason.

wow adam. i have to disagree, i think the heat and being the middle of the month, some folks don't get paid until the end of the month. i like the layout of the hoodie, and ordered 2 of them. katie dosn't make much money on the things she gets made for us, and we usually don't realize all the work that goes into having these things done. instead of griping and whining about it not being exactly what you want spend your time and money getting things made.

ingratitude is such a wonderful motivator.

Having been the guy who had to do all the legwork for logo shirts for work, I can appreciate the hassle. (and lack of sanity at the end of the process)
folks need to keep in mind that if Mrs S gets these ordered by mid-August, she won't have them in hand until mid-September - for some folks that's already hoodie weather - and then there's still repackaging, printing out the mailing lables & shipping.
hopefully the upcoming payday for many will let her see more orders.

I wasn't complaining and am definitely not ungrateful. No one appreciates the time that Katie puts in to projects and the mods put in to this forum more than me. I barely have time to read and post here much less try to wrangle lots of projects for others so I can assure you Katie's work doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Sure sounded like complaining to me. It's fine. I am just done getting bitched at not matter what I chose.

Sorry you took it that way. ;)

Not really any other way to take it.

Bottom line is we started doing this for fun and this kind of shit has quickly taken the fun out of it.

We did the best we could to keep the price where people could afford it. Adding a logo would have increased the cost. You complain that its a $45 sweatshirt. Would people have been happy with a $50 sweatshirt with a big logo on the back?

I haven't read the whole thread but here's what I have learned: logo gear is a tough business, thus the reason we don't do a lot of it. In order to get a good enough price you have to order in large quantity. As for people backing out, that's to be expected in any business when it coems to pre-order. Sometime circumstances and hardships are the cause, sometimes people simply back out for no reason. The only way to be in this business is to order goods, price them for a profit, then sell them. Sometimes that means sitting on $$$ for a while. Once the product is in stock people either buy or not. As you can see with this HEST folder, even though people love it, a lot of tweaks and changes have been brought up by users. Those ideas do not go un-noted even though the design is what it is and will not change for now because it is impossible to please everyone's ideas.

Katie/Mike: we appreciate everything you do on this forum, shows and everythign else. I think most all the forum users feel the same way. Sorry this Sweatshirt thing turned out as it did and maybe the best bet is to back off from it altogether?

That's what happened to us in the knife biz :D :D

I better stock up then, I thought that's when you said you'd stop doing it. :D

I really didn't mean any offense, I don't think I've ever had a cross word with the shotgunners and didn't meant to step on any toes. I'll be retiring from this thread. I've got a new pack that supposed to show up tomorrow, maybe I should spend some time outside. :D

Well the last part of that sentence has not happened yet. The knife biz is still fun for us and we enjoy the interaction with the customer, even though it can be trying sometimes. ;)

As for your comments on the thread, I tried to go back and read where everything went south and I didn't see where you purposely offended anyone. Mr and Mrs Shotgunner are much appreciated for what they do. We also appreciate every forum member here and their interaction. All is well, amigo.

I hate that this thread went off course. I appriciate what ya'll are doing and am looking forward to future ESEE branded goodies. Also put me down for two of those Hoodies.:D

Jeff kinda touched on it, but all I can say is "Welcome to customer service."

You have to make the stuff that sells, and just understand that not everyone is going to be happy.

I know it's a big upfront cost, but if you want to stay in the shwag business, I'd order some up front, and sit on the ones that don't sell right away. Two reasons:

1.) You know what's going to happen: six months from now someone's going to post pics with an ESEE hoodie in it, and all the new kids are going to want one.

2.) If you have them on hand, guys will make an impulse buy and it'll sell without them having time to back out.

One other tip: listen top Jeff, some customers you don't need.

I'M NOT SINGLING OUT ADAMAN here. But you will always have people that piss and moan about little details like they are deal breakers. Fine, don't buy it. Or they'll agree to a price, and when it's all said and done want to haggle you down on the price now that you have "their" custom thing done.

You need top be able to tell some people to go f--k themselves, and realize that you'll probably never meet them again, and don 't take it personal. Dealing with people sucks sometimes, but if you're in business, you have to do it.
