Okay.

There's been a lot of buzz about this thing -- and I think it deserves it. I've had the chance to see this think up close, and as simple as it may seem, there's a lot of potential here.

First, use it for storage of extra money. What potential theif is going to say, "Give me all the money in your handkerchief!"?

Second, use it as a weapon. Put a few quarters in that little corner pocket and whalah! -- you've got your self one nasty "towel" to snap. The Bandando also works very well the the V-Gar System's Manrikigarrrote -- which can be coiled inside and used in the same "towel" manner. Finally, put one of James' nasty little Pocket Meteors in there.

The versatility is dynamic.

Currently, the Bandando is available in red and dark-blue (with the pattern shown). However, if there is enough of a demand, I think James is willing to expand that selection (someone mentioned solid black, and camo-color may also be available). So tell him what you want, and what you think.

Also, a word about the construction of the Bandando. You are not just buying a special handkerchief -- there are elements of design as well. For example, all edges are reenforced to add longevity, and the actual corner pouch is done so as to blend seamlessly with the pattern on the fabric. There's a lot of thought that went into this.

I'm not a weapons expert, and I know that I'm just scratching the surface here. Any other thoughts on how the Bandando can be utilized?

I have 8" Ban Bog Sticks, a Koppo Stick, a Wang-Bo and a Pocket Meteor. The only one that will not work in that pocket is the Wang-Bo! It is very controllable to swing, you can put almost anything in it as you have said, as a weight, or to hide it...it is a great item. I would like one in black, solid black.

You can also use this thing as a "cloak," to hide a knife in a sheath, or a drawn knife. Just a thought. It does not go in the pocket, but you use it just as you normally would to conceal something else. You can immediately split the two on demand, weighted Bandando in one hand and the blade in the other...very versatile.

The ways in which this piece of cloth can be used are too numerous to mention in one thread, as The Missing Link has asked...what are YOUR ideas?

I've carried a bandanna off and on, using it as a wallet, handerchief, bandage.

The Bandando is tempting, I'd like it in either black or blue though.

Besides tac usage, it could be a good gift for those who don't carry knives.

Well, there are both combat applications and non-combat applications. Just having a large cotton bandana on you is a good idea, especially if you're working outdoors.

As far as combat applications, one of my favorite uses for a reinforced bandana is for grappling. I'm still not very good at it, but one of my instructors used my bandana to throw me into a wall several feet away. I've still got the bruises.

I've got a blue one & I keep my pocket meteor secured within. I just loop it over my neck & with just a snap of the wrist...KRAK THUD!

VERY cagey & low key.

What is the Pocket Meteor? I can't find the Blade Rigger website at the moment. I've been thinking of getting some ball bearings to throw and to shoot with a slingshot. But that weighted Bandano sounds good.

JANI, have you tried looking under sticks since James put up the new website. i spoke with him after i bought a wang bo from him; recently he put up a new website and the pocket meteor is on there. it's a 4-inch smooth solid piece of titanium; he could probably sharpen one end or put a blunt tip on it like my wang bo but i think it's more to be used like a flail. he has a nice strong black paracord-like wrap on it at the end; it's long enough that you can really flail with the thing and it will wrap safely around the back of your hand after percussion on the target of your choice. or you can just swing it like all get-out. my version is cheaper - i put a brass square Master lock on some thicker paracord and measured it to swing around into my palm once swung. as a skull hole-punch this would be efficient but even swinging it up lightly into said target of choice's groin area would at the least be a distraction and at most an annoyance in the fathering dept for the rest of the night for said target of choice. if stopped by LEO: it's the lock for my locker when i swim (i do laps for real, pretty seriously so i have all the essential gear in my trunk); on the other end of the paracord i have a large ring with my keys and such. well, it works, even if primitive. but i suspect the first rock thrown at the first caveman to piss off another caveman wasn't polished and painted before being thrown! and it probably hurt just as much either way. but seriously the pocket meteor or his 8 inch sticks (also titanium) are beautiful products. i think the meteor is also 3/4 inch thick. excellent combined with the bandana; excellent when used right out of the pocket.

That is truely remarkable. Is it available in plain black? I don't think it's a good idea running around with gang colors.

SB:

I think James will make it in black; just ask him. Luckily I don't live in a gang infested area so I could away with any color

I do believe if James gets a favorable response from a dozen folks on here, he will produce a run in black.

I am not a JSP Salesman, but I play one on TV, and if you guys line up and order 2 at a time, all the better.

I have a red and a blue, I am waiting for a black one too.

Found the site now. Thanks for the info, KELT34 (and others, as well). I thought the Pocket Meteor was something round, so I started thinking them as "improved ball bearings". They were different, but impressive looking.

By the way, does the pocket of the Bandano have a zipper or similar? If it doesn't, would there be a risk of the weight (Pocket Meteor, coins etc.) becoming a projectile while swinging it and leaving you less-armed against the Bad Guy?

Jani,

It is an OPEN pocket, I never say never, but I think due to centrifugal force, there is little chance of it coming out.

I want one but...

I don't know how to wear it. Seriously!! I don't want to look like some biker wannabe, nor do I want to look like I belong to the Bloods or Crips. I definitely don't want to look like I'm really into pro wrestling; NWO and all that(even though I am) or trying to look like I was in the 80's rock group Loverboy. Hey, I'm just an average Joe who wants to look AVERAGE, low profile.

But...

The tactical applications of the Bandando are almost limitless. And yes, I've been snapped by towels, so I can understand that. The damn thing also looks cool. But, come on, all you guys don't wear it, do you?
(unless of course, you are a biker, wrestler, gangbanger or lead singer of Loverboy) There has to be other ways of carrying the Bandando...?

Keating wears it hanging off of his belt. Try folding it up and putting it in your back pocket.

Jason

You might simply fold it with the "LOAD" in it, i.e., Pocket Meteor, etc., so that only one "tail" hangs out of your back pocket, just enough to grasp and yank it out of your pocket, it does not have to be obvious. You still get the same effect, and the thing is not hanging out and waving around inviting all the speculation as to who or what you are!

Loveryboy? I turn 31 in 6 days...I have not heard them for a long time...

Is everyone still "Working for the weekend" or what?

Hello everyone!!
Here's some additional BandandoTM insite... New available colors for various applications, attire and concealment... solid black, solid Desert Sand and solid White.
These skeletial reinforced extra large bandanas are 100% cotton with a concealed reinforced corner pocket.
So that you can use it just as its originally intended.
A kirtchif...
Sweat rag...
A good idea is to load and roll it up and dropping it down the inside of you pants...
maybe folded in thirds??

hey, James! love my wang-bo; just waiting to save up for a credit card blade down the road! what i'm wondering is what's next from the JSP arsenal: can it be very long before we see an "Untouchables" design spiffy gentleman's hat with a heavy lead wire or manrikigarotte inside the brim? can i get kudos from you if this popped a lightbulb for ya?! seriously, my father once showed me how when guys always wore hats and suits (guess post-world war II) how he could toss a hat right at someone -whizzz- and immediately follow up with a solid hammer to the guy's schnozz or wherever. there was also a funny one where you pulled the guys suit down just enough that his upper arms were stuck and he couldn't swing! ha! just dropping in; love this forum...
