bandsaw down feed cylinder sticking

Anyone work on hydraulic cylinders? The downfeed on our bandsaw has started sticking and its aggrevating the fire out of me. Im not a novice at hydraulics but Ive never tried to work on cylinders.. Id like to try to fix first if possible. That little cylinder is $175 to replace, thanks

Any way to drain fluid and flush it out? A small amount of debris can plug or completely block a needle valve very easily especially if it is a gravity feed.

Unless its some crimped/sealed assembly, that thing should be dead simple to open up, understand & fix.
A bit of schmoo is all it takes to bugger it up.
