I was reading the bandsaw thread and it reminded me that I ripped the tire in half on my little bench top bandsaw. Tom Lewis posted a comment about a place he had bought tires from so I searched there and lo and behold they had a set.

While this is good, the price is 30$ and I paid about 25$ for the saw. It has been a work horse but I feel that for 55$ I could find a better one used. So it got me wondering if there was a way to make tires out of a bicycle tube or something cheap? I'm not doing any precision work with it all I would really want is something that fits and is somewhat durable. Any ideas?

You can try electrical tape or duct tape.

I've seen guys use duct tape built up in the middle. Won't last very long though
