Bang for the buck tool?

I just bought a Sidekick for the same price as a Wingman. Not sure if that was good or bad. I believe the Sidekick is a Wingman minus the bad scissor!

I find the most useless thing on the Wingman is that blister-pack cutter thing. I'd much rather have the small blade that takes up that slot on the Sidekick. But to me scissors are a must, even if they aren't the best. Found an old Leatherman Side-clip in a pawn shop recently, might try modding it into a custom multi-tool.

It's been 3 days since my new Sidekick arrived. It is so much easier too carry than my Surge. The pocket clip is genius. I love the shape of the main blade.

At $28.17 shipped, the Leatherman Wingman comes to mind. My example had poor scissors, but people generally like it for what it is.

Greetings Powernoodle, been a big fan of your posts for years! By poor scissors did you mean the spring wouldn't work? If so, that's what I thought when I purchased mine a few days ago. Playing around with it I found that when fully separating the two scissors parts the spring engages, and disengages when depressing the lock tab to fold the scissors back into the tool. Pretty cool, and a great deal for the price!

I just received 2 Schrade Tough Tools. Both are the black ones with scissors and tan sheaths. Not all bad for what I paid for the pair. I expected a whole lot worse!!!!! One went in our camping gear and my wife wanted the other for her backpack. They are certainly not the quality of my Leatherman, but will come in handy.

I second the plug for the Leatherman S2. It replaced my sidekick back in 02' and I never turned back. It is a great trim package that doesn't snag, isn't too bulky, and has most of the tools you'd want/need.
