I am trying to cut smaller diameter curves on my bandsaw. It is good quality, 1/2" width ,14 tpi.....but probably couldn't cut a 10" diameter. What does everyone use?

I have been cutting 8" and 7 " diamiter cuts for my new forges. I have been lucky enough to have a waist side and a good side. I start to run off curve to the waiste side I then go back in the slot and as i come forward again the teeth cut away the out of alignment and I keep doing this all the way around.

It is not the best but my blade is blunt and I am squeezing all the cut out of it I can get.

If you see my recent post there is some good advice from the other guys about tight blades and good alignment. My saw is cutting curves better and not jumping off the wheel now. I hole it helps.

10" minimum diameter???

This is a from a Vermont American chart I have on cutting steel with bandsaws:

Band Saw Blade Minimum Radius Curves
Blade Width Minimum Radius
If your blade width = 1/8" (3.2mm) your minimum radius is 1/4" (6.4mm)
If your blade width = 1/4" (6.4mm) your minimum radius is 3/4" (19.1mm)
If your blade width = 3/8" (9.5mm) your minimum radius is 1" (25.4mm)
If your blade width = 1/2" (12.7mm) your minimum radius is 2-1/2" (57.2mm)

I think that table is for wood blades. There is no way I could cut a three " radius with a 1/2 bimetal blade.
