Banner Adverts

Oops.......the number after cgi/ seems different in each case.

Yeah, it's supposed to be random so that you see a different banner on every page. If they were all the same number, you'd only see one banner as your browser would cache it.

Don't want to harp.....but I am really curious. Have you solved the problem ?
Have you accepted that there IS a problem ?
I raised the subject in order to help out.
If there is something wrong with my system, I want to know.

I'm using aol 3.0 for the Mac and it's happened to me for a while on every banner. I figured it was just a Mac thing. (Cookies on, entering through front page)

Problem seems to have been fixed for the past few days.
Would have been nice, tho, if you had given some feedback to those of us who took the time to let you know there was a problem.
No worries....good to see you got on top of it.

Brian, I haven't changed a thing on this end, at all. If you are experiencing problems, it's somewhere between us, and you, but not on our end, as everything is working fine.

Something was wrong with either your software, your provider, or something else along those lines, but that's all I can say, because everything here is exactly as it's supposed to be. The HTML is correct, the banners work, and there's nothing that I've changed to make it work all of a sudden.

I'm sorry that I couldn't nail down your specific problem, but truthfully, without being physically present on your system and knowing exactly what your settings are, it's hard for me to trouble shoot.

For those of you using AOL 3.0, the reason that the banners may be failing is that AOL 3.0 doesn't handle Javascript well.

Also, if BladeForums.com is set to be your homepage, that may be why it's showing up on your screens: The banners as supposed to open up a new browser window (which would explain why you go to the front page) and then take you to the appropriate advertisers page.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

No worries.....sometimes it helps if you say "I can't help".
You just seemed to drop us like a hot rock
