i think the balance is much better, maybe because it looks more balanced, but it just feels like the working part is where it's supposed to be. also doesn't poke n jab on the wrong end. i like to strike the pommel with the palm of my hand when chipping block ice so i don't stab a blade through a expensive cooler.
