Great idea for a thread...I just had this GEC Talon out for some pics yesterday.

Very nice blue Talon and great photos Ratbert, made me pull up a photo of mine as I totally forgot the Talon's were barehead...the 92 is an underrated and often overlooked pattern!

I would say yes Dylan, as I've been told a Barlow is a Jack knife but a Jack knife is not a Barlow:D:thumbsup::)
I always thought the definition of a Jack Knife was a knife with all the Blades on one end . And the Barlow was a Jack Knife with a bolster that was approximately 1/3 the length of the closed knife . I am not sure that it quantified whether it had to be a One Bolstered , or Bareheaded , knife . We have seen some makers make , IMO , some dubious claims of being a Barlow , but maybe they are correct .
Some really nice knives posted by everyone . I could have " liked " on every one of them .

Wow, great stuff everyone!
waynorth waynorth , Charlie, Thanks for the comment. That Bump is wonderful!
I also love the way many bareheads flare at the back end to give a very secure grip.
Here's an example of that flare, Jeff. This Cramer LCJ has the most comfortable grip of any slip joint that I own.

Wow, what a tremendous show, fabulous pics from everyone!

Gary, that's a great example of the flared back end (nice centering, too!).
Augie, the bone on your Challenge simply knocks me for a loop!
Jack, your wonderfully feathered horn is "oh so" photo worthy.
Al, I'm lovin' the old Case reds!

And here are a couple more stag knives with the flared back end.
