Your getting quite a global collection GT !:thumbsup: Very interesting variety, I especially like the two from Spain. Can't wait to see what countries might be represented in the future.
Thanks, James. :) I don't think I currently have any more countries whose knives I can post, but maybe some day ...

Old Engineer Old Engineer and @johnny twoshoes, those are impressive herds of bareheads!!

Wow! Some great knives being shown here, and some beautiful stag :)

Just an amazing string of Bareheads that you have my friend . The Stan Shaw , I would think , is probably made of unobtainium . You know that I just have to really like the Stag Taylors Eye Witness . Thanks for the show Jack .

Thanks a lot Harry :)

Bareheads just happen to be my favorite so I will just post a few today .

Harry

Absolutely smashing my friend

Looking through the knives pictured I think I have the wrong idea as to what constitutes a "barehead".

To me bare end is one that often sports a bolster. In this definition Barlow are not bareheads as that pattern never has a bolster other than the (normally) oversized one at the pivot end. To this end, bareheads would be patterns that could be built with blades on both ends; sleeveboards, equal ends, etc. For example, a serpentine pattern jack could be built with bolsters on both ends, one end, or without (a shadow).

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd expect an explanation of how something can be "bare" if it's never been "capped".
