I have to say, I've got more use out of two SAKs than I have out of the rest of my other knives combined.

They're amazingly practical and very well-made knives for the price.

For 'tactical' type folders, the best bargain you can get right now is the Ganzo G704, IMHO.

I picked the skyline . Slim sweet blade shape nice g10 fit nice in the pocket light weight and once it's broken in it open super fast . Just love the skyline over the Tenaciuos it's to big and the ergos don't do it for me the liner lock just bother my finger.

I have 7 - Spydie Paras = gee I wonder which knife I would pic ~~~ but nobody put it up there.* That is a real bummer.! I also did not see a price range that everybody was talking about as for a couple of the other knives were in the $40.00 range or so.! {prices that low and I would go for one of the Byrd Knives.}

At around $40 +/- I would look at a Kershaw Groove...slick little knife...14C28...American made...tough to beat in my eyes.

SAK. It will saw, slice, clip, screw drive, can open, tooth pick, blade lock etc. All in a slim light weight package.

Tenacious over the Skyline? You guys are crazy!;)

14C>8cr
USA>China
Skyline's hardware>Tenacious

SAK, no doubt about it. Very consistent quality, all the tools work great, edge stays sharp for a fair bit and they're easy to touch up, there's one for everyone,...

I'd pick another SAK anytime. Because... I like swiss army knives:-).
I've got the Cryo, and it's the only 8cr13mov blade that rusted on me by just sitting in the drawer (not even my srm/enlans have this problem, and I've had them for way longer).
Second vote would be a Buck Vantage Pro, I find it low cost for what it is, and hence: a bargain. Great knife overall.
Don't own any of the others, so I can't say anything about them really.

I'd go with a SAK every time. It's a predictable tool and knife for the price of two beers at the pub. A knife like the Victorinox recruit for 14.95 at Lowes, is as cheap as an Opinel, gives you two knife blades of decent steel, large and small screw drivers that will handle flat and phillips, bottle opener, can opener, and the tweezers and toothpick. The toothpick is actually handle for small tasks on electronics, and the tweezers has helped me get a thorn our from between my dog's paw pads.

Just too much utility in a 3 and 1/4 inch package weighting 3 ounces. Not to mention it flies under the radar in restrictive places like Washington D.C., NYC, Chicago, the U.K. and oher countries. A SAK is my travel knife. And it's cheap enough that I can give it away at the end of my trip, kind of like a tip. Everyone in Europe appreciates a SAK.

I would take an alox sak like the soldier/pioneer or farmer. Fairly good steel, easy to maintain, great selection of tools, and strong, ready for some work.
If saks were out of the question, because they offer so much more than just a blade, i would probably go for a stockman, buck or case in CV.

If I could only own one folder it would be a Buck 110..Built like a tank and I've never heard of anyone ever breaking one..They're heavier than I like but if I could only have one folder that would be it..I love SAKs and Spydercos and take a few on my kayaking/camping trips but..The Buck 110 is a beast of a folder..Locks so tight it thinks its a fixed blade..

I can carry extra tools in my truck, kayak, backpack, canoe and camper if I feel the need to

I chose the SAK with the Skyline close behind

SAK has more than one feature and alot of flavors to choose from

I have a SAK Spartan and I would love to pair that with a Cryo if I had to carry another folder.
Why? because its a Kershaw and that company makes the best folders for the price I am willing to pay.

I vote for SAK because I have one and like it. If I had to buy knife with $40 budget, I would get Spyderco Delica or Cento3. If you patient, you can find them in this price range. Lightly used can be even little less.

Tenacious

I've had one for a few years. I've owned a lot of more expensive knives but the Tenacious always works it's way back in my pocket. I like everything about the Tenacious except where it's made.

I picked Buck because of the high quality manufacture and a warranty that all other companies "Should" have. Second would be a SAK, one of the best bargains around and they get scary sharp.
