I have been going through the blanks that are hanging on nails in my shop. This one is ATS34 steel which I haven't worked with in over 10 years, but it was ground to shape and heat treated so I finished it up yesterday. ATS34 is a high carbon stainless steel that is very rust and stain resistant and holds a good edge, I only quit using it because it does not forge very well.
Stock removal from 1/8 inch material
Heat treated in atmosphere controlled furnace to Rc 58-60
Flat grind (I used to hollow grind all my ATS34 but that grind has fallen from grace)
Professionally stabilized spalted maple handle
Overall length: 8 3/4 inches
Blade: 4 1/8 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
SOLD delivered within the US. My PayPal and email address is gldrewknives@gmail.com
