I'm thinning the herd by offering up some Bark River knives in my collection that are not getting used. A little early spring cleaning. Who am I kidding? I'm probably just making room for future knife purchases :) Up for grabs are a Bark River Teddy, Bravo 1 Field, and Mini Kalahari Sportsman as well as a Blackjack Model 125.

The Bravo 1 Field Version (below) has cocobolo scales that appear dark at first glance, but the red grain really pops and is stunning in good lighting. Nevertheless, I had always intended it to be a user and did in fact carry and use it extensively when I first bought it. Eventually, I sent it back to BRKT for their spa treatment to take care of some dings in the spine and refresh the handle. Jim Stewart suggested the swedge to clean up the dings and personally handled the work. The knife has been unused ever since and still bears the edge that Jim gave it, as I have been reluctant to bang it up again. The laser etching applied during the spa treatment is not up to BRKT's usual standards. Some of the letters look a bit smudged :( In addition, there is a tiny mark about 1/16th of an inch long perpendicular to the spine (what remains of the aforementioned dings) about 3/4 of an inch in front of the jimping. It can be seen with the naked eye but is very difficult to photograph. It is barely visible in the close-up below, about where the spine begins to narrow. The original sheath was waterproofed by DLT Trading, but never saw much use. The knife was most often carried in a Sabot sheath that I treated with Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP, which I am also including in the sale. There are many Bravo 1s out there, but this one is fairly unique I think. I'm asking $300 per PayPal G&S, shipped and insured within the continental U.S.

The Blackjack 125 (below) is a bit handle-heavy, but the 5-inch blade feels very quick in hand. It has a stacked leather handle that is a surprisingly comfortable wedge shape. The large single quillon adds a feeling of security, as there is no chance of your hand slipping forward even when holding the knife loosely. That and the generous choil are standout features of the design. Also, the sexy swedge and drop point make the 3/16th-inch thick blade seem much thinner than it really is. I treated the sheath with Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP, but have not ever carried, used, or sharpened this knife. It is in new condition. I'm asking $275 per PayPal G&S, shipped and insured within the continental U.S.

The Mini Kalahari Sportsman (below) has matte green micarta scales and a cutting edge 4 5/8 inches long. I used it once to process a whole chicken, then put it up and forgot all about it. Otherwise, it would likely have gotten more use in the kitchen, as it is probably even better for deboning and slicing than filleting. The handle is small, yet large enough for a four-finger grip, although the design encourages a pinch grip that allows for precision cutting. I have not sharpened this knife, but stropped it briefly with green compound to touch up the factory edge. It remains essentially in new condition. I'm asking $150 per PayPal G&S, shipped and insured within the continental U.S.

All of the knives will be shipped in their original boxes. I am the original owner of these "safe queens" and am not interested in trades at this time, tempting though they may be. However, I will consider alternative payment platforms or shipping outside the continental U.S. if requested, in which case the price will be correspondingly adjusted. Thanks for looking!
