No real forum or youtube reviews on these.
Any reason?

Not sure if this is common or not : I ACTUALLY use these things as tools.
3 people I asked about these knives said they just collect BR knives.
Not even kidding. One guy claims to have ( dont laugh) 41 total knives !

Please, if you use / have used these. NOT just to collect or just cut paper or cut a hair in half. ( not joking, same guy told me he sharpens till he can cut a hair on HALF!)

Some thoughts, Pro / Con type of stuff.
Perhaps a GET IT or it sucks, stay away

Please feel free to report your own experience with these knives

I don't have a problem with people collecting knives. I'm guilty of it myself, in fact. It isn't my place to be judgemental about how another person uses, or doesn't use, his things. A person has 41 knives that he doesn't use? Great! I'd be interested in seeing pictures. A different person has 3 knives that he uses the heck out of? Fantastic! I'd like to see those pictures, too...and read some of the stories about his experiences with them.
I have knives that I purchased just to have...and I don't care what anybody thinks about that.

Bark river is a very reputable company, I would get one or both. Me personally I would choose the Senegal because I'm partial to the parang style.

As per having 41 bark rivers and never using them, that's fine. I can't use all my knives all the time. I probably have 200 total, which is a small amount compared to most here.

Would you share what type of knives you currently use and what makes you want to buy one of those? Maybe share some photos, after all, threads are useless without photos.

Really 200 knives or just trolling me? Some have MORE than 200?
Not sure what photos you want from me, as I am asking the question =P
If you are serious:
** you can google to see pics of all of these
As for the good, non common boring stuff:

Bradford Guardian 5 3v double HT/double cryo
Bradford Guardian 3 M390 double HT/double cryo
Whatever Brad is doing for his HT protocol ,these are the best steels I have ever used,by far. Also S H A R P ,never used ANYTHING at this level of sharpness nor can I duplicate it.
White River Backpacker S30v My currecnt "edc" worn as a neck knife.Best sheath I have ever had.( as far as being secure and safe) love love love this knife. A steal for what it costs IMHO.
Cold Steel Master Hunter 3v waiting on replacement due to odd problem. This is in another thread.
Fox Pathfinder Nitro-B kukri
Spyderco Dellica 4 ZDP 189,got as gift . Have never used.
Kershaw Skyline 14c28n , I carry this when my neck knife is not possible/easy or some other reason.
Bark River Bravo 3v ( recent gift)
1 More 300$+ knife that I just sent back today for replacement.( another thread) Short version, I got a lemmon.

I have had many others in the 50-250$ range that I have sold or given away.
Just gave away a BK21 kukri and an Esee

A Marine I know is in a bad way.He is also a fellow 33rd mason. He likes my pathfinder and needs one ,so I will give it to him this weekend as a supprise..Dont want him to waste his penny on it =P

As I am in need of a new large knife/chopper : I am interested in the : Bark River Battle Cleaver /Senegal A2, , Bravo III (3v)

As a semi steel "snob" as they call it here: LOVE the Senegal specs and design ...on paper, as I have never held one or seen ONE real test/review.
A2 is old school stuff.Never used it.Some LOVE it and say you cant ever hurt it, others say it is chippy/rolley. Rust easy, less then 1095 I am told. Some say it sucks untill it is RE sharpened 1-2 times.
yea yea yea, someone will say "just sharpen it more often...it is easy"
I would rather, on short OPs/trips rather somthing that needs no work on it at all.
Sometimes you cant stop to RE sharpen/strop/remove tons of chips.

The Bravo III is not my first pick design wise ,BUT...I am a huge 3V fan.
Was hoping for some tests/reviews to sway me.

Get the Senagal design I prefer and rusty, chippy, low retention steel
Or
Bravo III with a design I like a bit less with FAR better steel ( IMHO)

I know I know, apples to oranges....different designs ,different uses.
I just dont want to own or carry both.

Also, NO idea how post a pic here.

Get a photobucket or imgur account and paste the bbcode once you upload the pics to them.

Also doubting someone has 200 knives on a knife forum? some guys here have a good bit more than 200.

My only guess is they are both really large and pretty expensive, so not many people own both with so many other parang-style blades available.

If you decide to attack all knife collectors in your original post, you probably won't get very many people who are willing to help answer your questions. There are many people who have enough funding to build a collection that would seem unfathomable to those like me with a college-student-level budget. Also, whether one uses their knives or keeps them in a safe as part of a collection is not really something that should be judged on a forum with thousands of knife buyers of all kinds.

I think a simple question to those who have used said knives would be more effective than an insult to half the forum members.

I have not personally owned a Bark River knife, I have heard they are quality knives and are quite durable. I have handled a Bravo 2 (owned by a friend for a short time) in 3V that was well made (not outstanding, but good for the price) but sadly had a chipping problem, I think the heat treat might've been off on it. The Bravo 3 seems to be too long for any good use as a knife, but the profile lacks the height of a blade for any good use as a chopper, while the Senegal probably has a better chopping design with more weight behind it and a better grind on it.

200... yep for some that is just a starting point. I myself have well over 130 blades from a single maker. Then there are the other makers that take me up around that 200 mark. I figure I have more $s tied up in knives now than I did in the first house I bought. It's called a hobby. I could not use up all the knives I own in 10 lifetimes but I have a bunch that I just keep coming back to.

I remember when I got my first ash-1, we talked about belt carrying that bad boy. Andy does indeed have a BUTT load of awesome blades.

I have attacked or insulted nobody.
I will say to "normal" people or the general population : Having 200+ knives, or FULL body covered tatoos or 900 piercings...seems odd or wierd. To most ( IMOH) having a few usefull knives as tools is ok.Having hundreds a waste.
I bet If I said I had 400 coffee makers you might find that odd, or 700 forks ** a lady 1 town over has 400+ cats.
I never judged.
To each his own

Off topic.
Anyway :

I would be happy with some reviews on either knife, not just a head to head type thing.
Found ONE On the Bravo III from a german guy who really did not tell much at all.
Now 15( total) I have asked about Bravo III or Senegal all told me they just collect and never "really " used.
Outside of cutting paper and splitting arm hairs in half.

I had a junglas knife as my chopper. It was wrong shape, not heavy enough and not long enough IMHO.
I was chopping and hit knotzilla. After a few wacks I pulled it out to find a penny size chip missing ( another name when that big?)

I just really dislike 1095 anything. Terrible retention.Rusts in 1 day in some cases.Brittle
I have had nothing but bad luck with 1095 over the years.

I put my bradford Guardian 5 3v through hell and never a single problem. Guardian 3 as well.\

Shame nobody makes a 3v 12+ inch, 1.5-3 LBS Bolo/parang/kukri/senegal
I would buy one

I've got lots of tattoos too. This is a knife forum after all, Most people here will have more than 200 knives.
I do find it weird when people casually drop what secret organizations they supposedly belong to.
Either of those knives will chop whatever you want them to. Buy it, use it, post up some photos showing them off, then keep using them.

So guys who have lots of knives on a KNIFE forum are weird?

Agreed and ditto on a couple things. Dropping the frat and degree is off topic and out of line IMO.

Keep in mind, marine e7 there are lots of real frat brothers on this forum. Disclosing unnecessary information is silly and embarrassing.

Agreed. Ridiculing the folks who collect knives is insulting a large percentage of the members here.

If you want to see more Bark River stuff, not all manufacturers are equally represented on all sites....for example, like Bark River here. No dedicated subforum. One might find more about knives that are not well represented here somewhere where they are better represented.

Of course, there, insulting Bark River collectors will be probably taken even less kindly.

I have had no problem with my Junglas going through gigantic knots. Also I have had no issues with 1095. So, did Esee replace the knife? Got any pics?
