Just saw this knife online and for some reason I really like it. How do you all think it would work for a general outdoor/survival/bushcraft knife. I know Bark River's reputation for quality but does anyone have any experience with or opinions about this particular model.

I saw that one too. I really really like it. I have been lookin at it for awhile.

I bet big mike has it.:D

Looks like a sweet knife, I like the blade shape.....

I tested a BRK&T Big Bullnose Skinner and found it to be a very useful tool.

It’s a slicing machine with a very generous handle.

For me it really shines in the camp kitchen or in processing game.

It’s a good size camp tool while not being very heavy in your kit.

The one I had was unusual in it’s handle configuration, as it was the only one with a bolster.

Not a bushcraft or survival knife, but a serious cutting machine.

If you like the look, I think you would like the knife.

How did I know.:D;)

Thats a beaut Mike. Thanks for the Pic. It looks like a winner to me!

I still like the looks but it looks smaller in Big Mike's pic than I thought from the pics online.

Very poorly IMO, and I am inclined to believe that Mike Stewart would say the same simply because it wasn't designed for bushcraft tasks, but for butchering animals (and incidentally excells at food prep.). The point is at a poor disposition for carving and the blade width serves no practical purpose outside of field dressing in such a small knife. If you are seeking a practical bushcraft knife than a thin/narrow/pointy knife would serve you better in terms of your aforementioned tasks. I would personally recommend a mora.

As most of You know--the Bullnose Style Skinner is one of the most Traditional Patterns in Skinners and Slicing Knives.

The Upswept Skinner is one of the most effective Blade Shapes for this kind of Work. The Curve of the Blade matches the Natural Movement of the Arm and allows use without stressing the Wrist of Forearm.

The Big Bullnose Skinner is light as a feather and very fast in the Blade. The handle is Generous so you can hold the knife in any position in use.

Here is the knife in it's Hand made Custom Sharpshooter Sheath Systems Sheath.
