Hello im trying to decide betweem the bark river golok in a2 and the hudson bay camp knife 2.

Who is the best chooper? Must durable? Already have a junglas is theese knives better?

Is is as good warranty with brkt?

If I had a junglas, I wouldn't need either of the other two, u already got everything your looking for in the junglas IMHO..... Now wanting another one just for the sake of it is a different story that I can relate to! lol :D

Ahhhhhhhh now THAT I can get with!! I have to admit, I have always wanted a Hudson Bay Camp knife II..... I don't own either model, but that's how I'm casting my vote! Lol!

The golok is going to be better at chopping brush, the hudson bay II is going to be better at everything else. BRKT has a great warranty too.

It's more of a brush knife. For a wood chopping/splitting knife I would buy something else.

But the golok can choop wood and split and such also?

I had one of the first run and beat the tar out of it. It would chop wood and split with ease.

Maybe it wasn't designed for that but it could definitely handle it.

Can't speak with any authority on the newer production as the steel has changed. Mine was 0170-c (or something) and I think the newer ones are A2.

I've never had a problem with getting a warranty issue fixed.

Mike might have suggested once (or twice) that I needed to refine my technique to avoid repeating certain problems but he still fixed them. :)

Have you looked at their chopper they call the Battle Cleaver? It has nearly identical blade length and overall length as the golok but is designed to be a chopper.

Read alot now and never gonna buy a bark river. Bad heat treating and overheating during grinding they chip lots and lots and they are rude to customers...

I have now read countless threads and seen countless videoes and bark river knives fail at easy tasks like twig cutting...

And the company then insults the user..

Even see virtouvice has lots of chips etc...

For every one complaint or bad review there are another 100 happy customers. If you want the best service and support with Bark River knives buy from KSF or DLT. You don't need to worry about dealing with the manufacturer directly.

Yes but i se so many variables in nearly every knife,, that say to me bad quality control.. Pluss i dont want to buy from a company that treats its customers that way
