when I think chopping wood with a large knife I think bushcrafty type tasks and typically running a 2 knife rig a big chopper and a smaller blade. looking at a big knife as a copper eliminates the ultralight school of thought which leaves the more " traditional " school of thought.
Thinking traditional, I prefer the Hudson Bay knife from a purely looks standpoint...coupled with one of the bark river smaller blades with matching hardwood handles ( I'm fond of the desert ironwood burl with red liners ) in a custom made piggyback leather sheath is on my bucket list.
the pair would cover just about all your woods needs, have a very traditional look to keep from " spoiling the moment " like some of the other more commonly used pairs do... and match my frost river bushcraft pack and traditional oil skin tarps pretty well....
So given that....as good a knife as I'm sure the golok is it just doesn't LOOK the part to me and for that, I'll be casting my vote for the Hudson Bay.
I know....odd way to get to that end result, but my thought processes are often very strange to others LOL
