Bark River Gunny Hunter -$180 $170 – 3V steel and macassar ebony scales; great condition, lightly used once or twice, mineral oil applied to blade and wood. I’ve kept this in the sheath and noticed that parts of the wood come out of the sheath a little lighter from the leather drawing moisture and/or oils from the wood. These lighter areas go away with a little mineral oil or wood wax. I can't see it and it doesn’t show up in pictures but you can feel a very subtle, very slight shrinkage of the wood away from some parts of the edge of the tang. I also do not feel it when I’m holding the knife but only if I deliberately run my finger across from once scale to the tang to the other scale.
