For allround use, I prefer a 4-5" blade and at work I mostly use some kind of a Moraknife.

For general use, I really like a 4"~5" knife myself outside of the kitchen. I'm starting to really like the idea of a Kephart for this role. I have been debating the BRK Mini-Kephart as well but, really want to stay with stainless for this little knife buried in a pocket or pouch sitting possibly forgotten for some time. I realize CPM 3V isn't a rust hound but, stainless just seems more appropriate.

For the uses You have specified I pick a Fällkniven SK3 Juni, because of the slightly longer and slimmer blade.
The PSK and SK3 are around the same total lenght, but of very differrent design-philosophy.
However, I don't rule out a traditional slip-joint pocketknife and there are several options availible in better steels than INOX.

The Fällkniven SK3 Juni looks like a real winner to me! I saw your post about the factory sale so, I'm trying to get one ordered right now. Does the 1453SEK include VAT? My google Swedish is terrible so, that part is totally opaque to me at the moment!

Cool, it's a great choice IMO!
For us Swedish customers it's 1625SEK and this includes 25% VAT.
1453SEK could be VAT included if You are from a country within the EU.
If not it should be VAT excluded, but the best is to email them. They usually respond promptly.

The BRK Kephart proto was made in 12c27, but it was in 2005 or so.
The secondary market is the only option today.

I get a lot of mileage from my Lionsteel M1... Carries equally as well in pocket or on belt. The ergonomics are great and the overall look of the knife is not intimidating, at least to me. Blade steel (M390) is great as it holds a fine edge for a long time between touchups.

Looks like a nice blade for reasonable price in that steel.

I sent You a PM

Thanks again! The price I see is 1300SEK plus 153SEK shipping so, it looks like it is VAT free to me here in the USA.
:)

A small knife can be most practical and the PSK is no exception.
I have the Bark River PSK and it is a part of the content in an Otterbox survival kit, wich I won in a giveaway many years ago.
It is very pocketable for a fixed and if I don't have any other option, the PSK will be very useful.

I won that same giveaway. Were these the prototype for the production version?
