When will Bark River Knives start making perfect knives. It seems like this will never happen. The quality control is awful. It is literally almost impossible to buy a BRK without a flaw on it. And when you address this issue with them , they tell you that it’s because they are hand made. Yet I buy many knives which are hand made and are done so perfectly. And believe it or not, another excuse they have is that “their employees get upset when told to fix a knife which has a flaw” yes you heard it right. What ? that is what I said. And you can’t complain too much cause they will answer with “maybe bark River knives is not for you” believe it or not again. Wow wow wow. Arrogance at its best

Welcome to Bladeforums!

Bark River and their shills rooked me but good so I always have an axe to grind with this company but it's nice to see the word is getting out there concerning the true nature of BRK.

I have over 25 bark river knives. I've bought and sold many more than that in my time in this hobby. I've seen one knife from them, in that time, that had a flaw on the handle.

They sell alot of knives. A few bad ones are bound to make it into the wild. No one is perfect

im not a fan. I paid a lot for a macvsog in 3v. bought new from an authorized dealer. came with the wrong sheath from the factory. the longer one. leather washer handle moves up and down like a snake on it when using. really poorly done a functional issue while using. fine if sat on a shelf and only looked at.

not really sure it's actually 3v. never heard back from factory. I stopped trying. I vote with my dollars. they'll never get another dollar from me. dealer sent me there as I had used it before I realized it was junk. I have zero trust in this company.

also don't bother Mike on a Saturday with an email, he'll get really mad.........

Agree, no one is perfect but it’s how the company customer service handles those bad ones that separates the good companies from the bad companies.

Personally speaking, it’s irrelevant to me how good a product is if the customer service behind that product is nonexistent.

Character counts.

What mike Stewart did to Brian Evans is abhorrent. Seems like it goes unremembered by most but it should not be forgotten. He took Brian's money (10k if i remember), agreed to make knives for him and then didn't make the knives and didn't want to refund the money. It basically destroyed Brian's company he was starting, and certainly led to Brian having a ridiculous battle to complete the orders.

Brian had integrity and figured out a way to get the knives made and make customers whole, and eventually got his money back from Mike Stewart. When Mike Stewart decided he was good and ready and after Brian was drug through the ringer.

Along with the knives made in wrong steels I'm not a fan. Mike isn't a good dude in my opinion.

And here we go again. lol. While most here abhor BRK and the owner, of the many BRK knives I've acquired over the years, I've never had an issue. The ones I own and use are great knives. Yep, one or two didn't have perfect plunge lines but it never bothered me. The one time it did I was going to gift the knife to someone so I returned it and they made it right. No questions asked. They've refurbished a knife for me that was a total wreck from abuse (not by me) with no questions asked and no charge and it came back as new. Bottom line for me is I like their knives. I like the quality of their knives. And I will continue to purchase from them if I feel the need. Others disagree; understood. So I'll leave it be at that.

Totally understand that. I've never had contact with them personally. That would put me off too.

Dang that's terrible.

When you have an owner that’s as polarizing as Mike you can expect threads like this from time to time, it’s no different than Mick and Strider knives or Guy and Survive knives.
Medford is on that list for many, also. The amount of hate medford gets on reddit is unreal.

In your opinion, is strider as bad as survive? I knew strider had some issues but never seen them grouped with thieves like survive.
