Forgot about Greg, he’s definitely polarizingMedford is on that list for many, also. The amount of hate medford gets on reddit is unreal.
Both companies were built on lies.In your opinion, is strider as bad as survive?
In your opinion, is strider as bad as survive? I knew strider had some issues but never seen them grouped with thieves like survive.
Nothing so far in this thread is a rumor. It's documented here on the forums.Interesting thread about “ quality control”. I currently have 3 or 4 Bark River knives with no complaints or issues. That said, I’ve sent back 3, I believe for quality issues for refunds. The issues were fairly obvious to me upon arrival. Not sure how they made it past QC.
I can’t speak to the other topics or rumors being discussed here.
Don't forget hoback.Forgot about Greg, he’s definitely polarizing
Both companies were built on lies.
Mick lied about his military service, those lies contributed to his company being successful.
Guy knowingly ran a Ponzi scheme from start to finish, he’s nothing more than a thieving con artist.
I respect the hell out of this, on the flip side many of the guys I know on the forum like their brk knives and I know Mike can make a good knife. To each their own on how they choose to spend thier own money and who they support. My Crusader is pretty flawless. My Cub has uneven grinds one side vs the other, but I didn’t bother trying to have it fixed. I love some of their designs but will not be buying anymore of their knives after things I read on these forums from folks whose opinions I respect.
That may be but I thought we were discussing quality control.Nothing so far in this thread is a rumor. It's documented here on the forums.
The bad QC isn't rumors either, so absolutely nothing so far has been a rumor. Just wanted to clarify for potential new people that may be reading. One of the amazing things about bladeforums is its long standing documentation of events. That may be but I thought we were discussing quality control.
Agreed. That’s why I have returned approximately 50% of the knives I have purchased for a refund. The bad QC isn't rumors either, so absolutely nothing so far has been a rumor. I can't name them allDon't forget hoback.
Next time I want to cheap out on a buddy's secret santa, I'll take a play out of that book.I can't name them all
Not to take away from Mikes shine but... many, many years ago when Strider was first getting some name recognition there was a article in AH about Mick and his knives, through the course of the article Pat Covert who was the author stated that one of his most prized possessions was a sheath that Mick had gifted him. The story goes that the reason there wasn't a knife with the sheath was that particular sheath had accompanied Mick on one of his covert dork ops missions and the knife was buried in a tango... no time for retrieval![]()

Considering the only "dark op" mick strider has ever done is prison, something was definitely getting buried in "tangos".I can't name them all

Retrieval should have been a non issueConsidering the only "dark op" mick strider has ever done is prison, something was definitely getting buried in "tangos".
That's on me... can't help myself at timesWe're getting a bit beyond the scope of General Knife Discussion, methinks.
Withdrawal is un-American!Retrieval should have been a non issue![]()
