Hi, Folks! Derrick from knivesshipfree.com has generously donated a Bark River Manitou for a passaround. He shipped the knife to me and it is a beauty! We will be raffling the knife off to one lucky participant at the end of the passaround!
Here is a photo of a similar one -- the passaround knife does not have the colored spacers, just straight stacked leather. I will post my photos shortly.
For this passaround, we will be shipping the knife back to BRKT for refurbishment, then they will send to the next participant. This way, everyone experiences the knife as if new from BRKT. Here is the description from Derrick's site:
The New Bark River Manitou is a blend of traditional and new in one knife.
This knife is part of the Classic Series with the Teddy and Boone. It has the Traditional Handle of the very popular Old Wade & Butcher Hunting knives of the early 1900s and a more modern Drop Point Style Blade.
We have kept the size of those knives and kept the lively feel of the Vintage Models. This size Belt knife is perfect on the Belt or in Your kit on either a Hunting Trip of a Long Weekend in the Bush.
Specs:
Overall Length:9.375 Inches (Carver-9.5 Inches)
Blade Length: 4.687 Inches
Blade Steel: 52-100 @ 58rc
Blade Thickness: .205 Inch
Weight: 5.775 Ounces (Caver 5.125 Ounces)
The Rulez
1. You must promise to ship the knife after 5 days of usage. Shipping must be USPS insured for 200.00 and sent Priority mail back to Bark River, plus, you must use "delivery confirmation" when you send.
2. You must take at least one pic and post it in the passaround thread with your impressions of the knife.
3. You must have at least 200 posts to be included, or, if I know you personally, I reserve the right to include you if you have less.
*We reserve the right to not include you in the passaround if for any reason we are not sure of your intentions, etc.*
*CONUS ONLY. Sorry guys, but we are going to keep this in the lower 48*
Also, if you initially agree to the conditions above but fail to fulfill any of them, you will not be eligible for any more passarounds.
So, who's in????
