bark river mini canadian

RR- a friend of mine has a mini canadian in red g-10, that he is trying to sell.... if you're interested, i can ask him if he still has it....:D

mike

I can't find a red G-10 but I did see a red linen Micarta and the orange G-10. Both scales look GREAT on that knife.

Actually, maybe it's because those knives are so small, but I have yet to see a handle material (even the neon ones look good) on the BRK site that doesn;t look nice.

For those interested, Bark River just finished up a small run of Mini-Canadians and a few dealers have them now.

guilty as charged..I don't have that much of a collection as the ones that I feel are obsolete in terms of function are given away to friends...It's in the process of evolving into a small bag of the most functional camping/survival knives that I can find.... (inexspensive is nice too:)) I think I'm on too the perfect combo for me The woodswalker is filling the niche as the fixed blade but I'd like something a bit thicker...Thus the bark river....now the choice is between the psk... and the mini canadian.....thanks for everything so far guys it's nice to know ai found a place where I belong

Rescue Riley,
Of the thirty+ barkies me and my wife own, my favorite all around everyday knife is still the Fox River.

The pouch is much nicer on the mini-Canadian, though it needs a little work as the knife is very loose in it (something Foilist warned me about).

Very nice knives those Bark Rivers are.

Stretch, hit or miss sheaths seem to be a minor Bark River issue, as they are supplied from various sources. If you contact Mike Stewart (the main BRK&T guy), they will happily replace the sheath. I didn't bother because I got a hip pocket sheath for mine to use instead.

RescueRiley,
I have a Bark River Mini-Canadian in A-2, and love it, while my son has a Mikro-Canadian in 12C27 stainless, and he loves it. A-2 will rust, although I haven't had the problem (yet anyways) as I am pretty particular about cleaning and oiling them after use and while in storage. The spine of the Mini is pretty stout for such a small knife (not sure of the specs) but the convex grind comes to a paper thin edge that is very sharp. It seems to be easy to get a very sharp edge. Hope this helps you, ggod luck.

From Bark River's site, it seems that the both the mini and mikro are a-2, and the mikro II is stainless. Is this correct? I've seen lots of Mikros online listed as Mikro II but with A-2 steel. Is this dealer confusion?
