I have had my Bark River Mountain Man knife for a year or so. It sees duty in the kitchen and as an occasional picnic knife. When I saw one on sale, I got another one in Osage Orange. I like these simple knives for some reason.

Here it is with my older one in maple.

Steel is one of my favorites, 52100 @ 58 rc. Blade is .110" thick and 5.5" long.
The overall length is 9.875" and it weighs 5.1 oz. These knives are light, handy, and great for food preparation and even some bushcraft.

I love the traditional look of those Vic and I'd imagine that nice thin blade would be very usefull at a wide variety of tasks.

My only reservation would be the same as with many Scandi type knives and that is with wet hands I'd be worried about slipping down the smooth wood handle onto the blade !

The only time that might be a problem is in a thrust, in which case the pommel fits into the palm of the hand. In most slicing and skinning operations, I use a draw cut.

I really like the character of that older blade also. Have been contemplating one as I really like the traditional style knives.. Also have a Bravo 1 in Osage Orange:thumbup::thumbup:

Have you done any work that would likely test the edge of these Vic ? I'm still trying to figure out what stock to get my next knife in !!!!
