Just picked this Bark river Bravo up off layaway. Bought it a couple months ago. It has the Red Linen Micarta scales. WhAT I don't know is the kind of steel as it is not marked on the knife or the box. How can I tell?

If it is not marked is A-2 Tool Steel. The Stainless are well marked CPM154 and First Production Run. In general Stainless are marked, if not is A-2 or the new 150-6236272 (can never remember that steel number!)

Hope this helps.

It’s A2, the CPM 154 blades are clearly marked (and a bit more expensive).

All other B-1’s have been made from A2 tool steel.

I've got a Bark River Escort in the same red micarta.

It surprises me it isn't more popular as it looks FANTASTIC as scales, sort of funky Mora redwood-modern!
