I don't know why it bothers folks. It all started with Bladite, in fact.

Mine is that I have a habit of cleaning under my fingernails whilst voiding my bowels at work. They were replacing the stall locks one day and I had to do my business, well some idiot just opened the.stall door without thinking and saw me with my pants at my ankles holding a knife. The look on his face made me laugh so hard that I inadvertently completed my task in record time.

I thought this was freakin' hilarious and brought it up in Becker Chat. trade immediately riffed on it and changed it to "For Barlow!!!" in reference to a nearby town.
From there, it just took on a life of its own, complete with signature lines, tales of Barlow warriors, and so on. If there's anybody to blame, it's Bladite himself for making such a funny post.

I'm going to add something here after reflection, especially after folks seem to be keeping some sort of messed-up score.
For me, "For Barlow!!!" is just an imagined fancy that is funny from both a communal context and a Southern context.

That said, after re-reading this thread, I don't know if some of you are running the meme because it rubs Bladite, who I actually thought was joking.
If that is the case, it needs to stop. Now.

Bladite has been holding down the fort before a lot of folks here even knew what a Becker knife was.
He's a big reason a Becker forum even exists, and he's earned his respect in this community.

That's all I'm going to say about Barlow.
I'm fine with fun playfulness in the forum. I even encourage it.
But any sort of intentional friction has no place here.



Edited to add: I've gotten PM's to the effect that no harm was meant and that people only intended playful banter. Still, we'll let this one sink as it's pretty far afield of Becker knives.
