barong

Hey guys. I'm thinking of buying a barong from either Visayan Legacy or Kris Cutlery. I've heard good things about KC but I've heard nothing about VL. Anybody have opinions on their VL's products? Thanks for the help.

I don´t know the VL blades, but I know that the Kris Cutlery katana and wakizashi are without competition in their price range (differentially heat treated!, they take a big deal of beating). If the KC Barong is of the same quality, it would be a very good choice.

I have one of KC's Darn Daos and I use it to cut all sorts of hard targets. It has stood up extremely well. It is an outstanding sword for the money. I suspect their Barong is the same. Cecil does a good job IMO.

I have one of Kris Cutlery's Barong. The quality is very high. I had this blade for over a year and it still is holding up well in my practice sessions. You can request a light blade or heavy one from Cecil. Hope this helps.

I have a KC Kampilan, and it is sweet. Probably gonna get a KC Barong next.
