I actually could have posted this last week, when I received the custom skinner he made for me, but I felt that it would not be proper to post until he had received the knife I sent him in exchange. But got good news today, he got his, and likes it.

As usual, this exchange was accomplished in a simultaneous manner. Neither felt it necessary to wait 'till one had arrived to send out the other. This was a new experience, not the manner of trade, all have been that way, but the distance concerned me. I expressed my concerns to Bart, and he assured me that I had held up my end of the bargain just by mailing the knife out, but I still felt that the trade was not accomplished 'till I got the news that he has it.

I have already posted about the skinner in Custom Forum, suffice it to say that I am more than pleased in the quality of steel and workmanship that I got. Bart makes a wonderful product, and is patient with my ignorance of steel, hardening, terminology, etc, and my in ablility to decide as to the final combination. Then he had to come up with the reindeer handle option. The final result is great! I will post here or custom with results of first skinning test. Gotta kill a deer for testing purposes first.

I just wanted tosay what a great guy Bart is. We made a deal months ago and he came through with honor and integrity. His custom work is fantastic from what I've seen, and I have recently made a deal to get one of his latest creations, and huge modified Khukri with a beautiful custom leather sheath, the whole package by Bart. I cannot recommend Bart highly enough to anybody who wants to deal with a top rate, first class knife nut! Thanks again Bart, I'll have that Sebenza on the way for that Khukri as soon as I get it.
